Jerome "Jerry" Myers

Cortland – Jerome “Jerry” Myers, 89, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Signature Health Care in Warren.

            He was born November 3, 1928, in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of the late John and Helen Myers.

            He moved to Cortland in 1986 from Champion. He retired from in 1994 from G.M. in Lordstown in the Assembly and Fab Plant as a skilled Tradesman after 25 years.    He had previously worked at Copperweld, ABC Delivery and Fleck Pontiac in Niles. Jerry was a member of St. Roberts Bellarmine Church in Cortland. He enjoyed woodworking, remodeling, and flying radio-controlled airplanes.

            Jerry served in the U.S. Marines during WW-II and the Korean Conflict.

            He is survived by his two daughters Theresa “Terry” Myers of Cortland, and Rosemarie “Re” (Bernie) Meyer of Pineville, NC, six grandchildren Brian (Cora), Michael (Jackie) and Janessa Patrick, and Frank (Karen) Ellis, David (Shannon) and Nathan (Lana) Myers, and five great grandsons and four great granddaughters.

            He preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary J. Myers whom he married January 3, 1951 and passed away February 13, 2002, and a brother Kenneth Myers.

            Family and friends may call Saturday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.

            A service will be Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home with Rev. Christopher Henyk officiating.

            Burial will be in All Souls in Bazetta.

            In liue of flowers contributions may be made in Jerry’s name to the American Legions Post #540 c/o 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
