Joseph R. "Joey" Alberini Jr.

Warren - Joseph "Joey" Raymond Alberini Jr, 20, assumed his rightful place in heaven on August 10, 2017, after a well-fought battle with HLH, an autoimmune disease. His perpetual bond with his family, and God, supported him during his fight and ultimately lead him to much deserved peace.

Joey was born to the loving Joseph Sr and Jennifer (Shook) Alberini in Warren, OH on March 29, 1997.

Joseph Sr, who referred to his boy as "Cub", is a hard-working father for Trumbull County's Maintenance Department. Jennifer, Joey's strongest soldier, devoted her entire being to create a meaningful and fulfilling life for her son. Joey’s sister, Jenna Alberini (Yenna), 23, shared countless memories and a tenacious alliance with him. Zoey, his 9-year-old Dachshund, was Joey's cutest companion. Zoey accompanied Joey to the school bus and made sure to tuck him in nightly. Joey is also survived by his beautiful grandmother, Gilda Alberini; his aunt, Sandra Alberini (Harry Brown); his uncle and aunt, Chook and Brigitte Alberini; his uncle, Jimmy Keating; his aunt and uncle, Bobbi and Carl Millspaugh of Desert Hot Springs, CA; his aunt, Debi Dukett of Norfolk, VA, and his many precious cousins, all of which, Joey adored.

If you have ever crossed paths with Joey, you most likely remember his contagious smile, his brilliant outlook on life, his humble ways and the love that seemed to radiate off of him. He enjoyed his time at church and devoted his love to the Lord, staying up late many nights listening to Chris Tomlin. He spent summer days enjoying pool time with his cousins and even attended Fresh Air Camp, followed by volunteering his time there as a counselor. Joey loved school and proudly graduated from Lakeview High School this past May. He looked forward to seeing his best bud, Tyler Meinke every day at school. They went cool and stag to school dances, while proudly showing their school spirit in the Sparkle Effect Organization. They even got the chance to attend the "Night to Shine Prom" hosted by Tim Tebow. Joey loved the holidays as it meant spending time with his family. He and his sister, Jenna, shared traditions which included sleepovers, shopping, sneaking off to places mom wouldn't allow, and laughing together as they always did. Joey's favorite thing to say in tough times was "It happens, Yenna," a phrase she and the family will carry with them forever. Preceding him in death are his grandfather Robert W Shook, grandmother Arlene Carlock, Aunt Carolyn Nardella, Great- Grandma Mary Iezzi, and his grandfather Richard Alberini, his Uncle Victor and Aunt Ruth Alberini, and his great –grandparents Fred Sr. Alberini and Madeline Alberini.(Bubbles and Ducky)

On Monday, August 14, the family will hold a viewing from 4-6 pm immediately followed by a service. All services will be at the Victory Christian Center, 3899 McCartney Rd., Lowellville, OH. Services will be led by Bishop David L Thomas. The family asks guests of Joey's celebration of life wear Pittsburgh Steelers apparel, or black and yellow colors, to honor Joey's fervent passion for sports and deep-rooted love of the Steelers.

Joey's favorite verse: Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plan I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
