Warren - Mary Lou Gamble, 88, passed away Friday, November

24, 2017 at Shepherd of the Valley Howland.

            Mary Lou was born July 5, 1929 in Niles, Ohio, the daughter of Anthony

and Lucille Rossi Mannella

Mary Lou was a 1947 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. After

attending Warren Business College, she worked as a secretary at Federal Machine and Welder in Warren and later as an office manager for The Gamble Insurance Agency. Mary Lou was also co-owner of Lillian’s, a women’s clothing store in Niles.

On October 6, 1965 Mary Lou married Walter C (Jack) Gamble of

Marysville, Ohio, who preceded her in death on August 5, 1984.

Mary Lou enjoyed playing bridge, watching tennis, cooking, baking and

making ice cream as an owner of the former Nicolino‘s  Restaurant in Niles. In addition, Mary Lou enjoyed traveling, especially to her residence in Aruba, where she had dual citizenship. In 1981, Mary Lou received the “Ambassador of Goodwill” award from the island government of Aruba, Netherland Antilles.

Mary Lou was active in thoroughbred racing as a breeder and owner of

Jac-Lu Stables, racing in Ohio,New Jersey, and Florida.

She will be sadly missed by her sister, Gloria Malone of Niles, her

nieces, Lou Ann (Judge James) Fredericka of Warren, Jo Ann (Doyle) Key of

Springboro Ohio, and nephew, Dr. Thomas (Megan) Malone of Apollo Beach

Florida, five great-nieces and nephews, Gina and Michael Fredericka,

Sarah and Joseph Malone, and Ashlee Key Moses.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 AM at Saint John Paul II Parish

formerly St. Joseph’s Church, Warren.

Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery in Marysville, Ohio.

Mary Lou ‘s family would like to thank her caregivers at Shepherd of

the Valley, Howland for their compassionate care during her stay in assisted-living, as well as the members of Harbor Light Hospice.

Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel will be in charge of arrangements.
