I was privileged enough to work with Ord at Copperweld while I was attending Kent State.
Ord was able to tutor me in Economics to the point I could understand and pass the class.
He actually made what was a dry subject for me and make it fun.
In addition, he was just a very warm and friendly person. I will remember him fondly for his kindness. He sort of reminded me too of my father with the collection of reading material that lined the office wall.

Ord was one of my best friends at Copperweld. I spoke with him almost every day over a 24-year period and often times we would chat about how when we were the kings of the world, things would be different. He was a super caring man with a tremendous sense of humor and had he ability to put lots of craziness into perspective and kind of let things just roll over his back. While separated by a generation, he was a fellow Spartan, research analyst, nerd (in the best sense of the word), musician, and Copperwelder. He truly inspired me to pursue my advanced degrees and was the person who first introduced me to SAS statistical software, which I still use to this day. RIP my old friend.

Love to my family at this very sad time. I'm sorry I did not get to send flowers, did not see your text until this morning :( But anyway, the sentiment is the same. Its hard to believe our parents are all gone now. Much love, sympathy and hugs to all.
