Rose Ambrose

Warren - Rose Ambrose, 91 of Warren, Ohio died at 9:00 am Saturday, May 20, 2017 at The Inn of Christine Valley.

She was born October 26, 1925 in New Castle, PA daughter of Frank and Mary Galassi.

Rose was a 1943 graduate of New Castle High School. She was employed at St. Joseph Hospital ER Dept. in Warren Ohio before she retired in 1992. Over the years, she was previously active in the Altar Rosary Society and the choir at St. Mary’s church in Warren. She was a member of St. John Paul II Parish. Rose had a strong faith and love for God and believes she was blessed by Him with her 8 children. She loved to cook known best for her homemade manicotti and red sauce, sew and go out dancing the cha cha with her friends.

Her husband Peter C. Ambrose, whom she married June of 1945 for 24 years died August 19, 1969.

Rose will be deeply missed by her children; Francis Ambrose of Warren, Marianne (Vic) Sterner of Longwood Florida, Bernadette (Robert) Jacola of Niles, Dave (Suzanne) Ambrose of Plain City, Ohio, Regina Ambrose of Lawrenceville GA, Richard (Andrea) Ambrose of El Cerrito, CA and Lou (Holly) Ambrose of Kansas City, Mo, 6 grand-children, John Paul and Lisa Marie Jacola, Tatiana and Sasha Ambrose, Peter and Emily Ambrose and 2 great grand-children Louis Jacola and Riley Ambrose. 

Rose was preceded by her parents, son Gregory Ambrose, her two sisters Josephine Ferraro and Susie Stoner and a brother Anthony Galassi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 24th at 10:30 am at St. John Paul II Parish 420 North St. NW. in Warren, Ohio with the Rev. Christopher Henyk officiating.  Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Cortland, Ohio following the Mass.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Rose’s name to St. John Paul II Parish 1401 Moncrest Ave. NW, Warren, Ohio 44485.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for the staff of the Inn at Christine Valley for the wonderful care and love Rose received. Special thanks to her many friends she enjoyed spending time with over the past 18 mos.
