Virginia "Ginny" Rossi

Warren – Not without panache, Virginia “Ginny” Rossi, passed here Monday, April 23, 2018 at age 92.

            Ginny was born in Warren on November 30, 1925, the daughter of Tom and Edith Porter.

            She attended and graduated from Warren Harding High School in 1944, then went to work at St. Joseph Riverside Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide. In 1948, she married Gene Rossi and the two would remain together and raise a family, 3 generations, until Gene’s death in 2010.

Ginny was a founding member of Blessed Sacrament Church and belonged to the Mothers Club and the St. Joseph Auxiliary. Her pursuits were traveling with Gene, golfing, crossword puzzles, casino, dancing and piano singing. Throughout, her favorite teams were Ohio State and Notre Dame.

            Ginny is survived by four sons, Michael (Rosanne), E. Jeffery (Carol), Dennis (Luann) all of Warren, and Gregory Lynn (Leslie) of Rocky River. She also leaves 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; a sister, Judith (Dr. Kim) Pratt of Sutton-Surrey UK; a sister-in-law Elaine Wallace of Vienna; and brother-in-law Atty. Anthony (Marilyn) Rossi of Howland.

            Besides Gene she is preceded in death by her brother John MacPherson.

            Family and friends may call Friday, April 27, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. in Warren, with a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, April 28, at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church 3020 Reeves Road, NE, Warren.

            Entombment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta Township.
