Howland – Anthony G. “Tony” Maligas, 55, passed away peacefully Friday, October 19, 2018 at his home due to complications from diabetes.
He was born September 9, 1963, in Warren, Ohio the son of George and Filio Maligas.
He was a 1981 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He retired as care giver and previously had worked at Premium Meats, Packard Electric and was owner of Christos in Howland for 2 years, was also an all-purpose handyman and mechanic.
Anthony was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Warren.
He enjoyed golf, fishing, cooking and was an avid sports fan.
He is survived by his parents of Howland, a sister Jeannie Maligas of Warren, one brother Kerry Maligas of Warren, two uncles Manuel (Lee) Maligas of Houston, TX, Mike (Mary Jane) Loulis of Newton Falls, two uncles in Greece and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his brother; Nicholas G. “Nick” Maligas whom he cared for, three aunts Katina Kondolios, Irene Loulis, and Daphne Grose.
Family and friends may call Monday, October 22, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a 5:30 p.m. Trisagion Service and Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE. Warren, Ohio 44483.
A service will be Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. Constantine Valantasis officiating.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
