Howland - Irene L. Goff, 94, passed away peacefully, Wednesday May 9, 2018, at St. Joseph Health Center with her family by her side.
She was born September 11, 1923 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of the late Alfonso and Flora (Yannucci) Toro.
She attended Warren G. Harding High School and retired from Packard Electric as an assembler after 30 years.
She married the love of her life Raymond Goff on December 2, 1950 and enjoyed 44 wonderful years of marriage together.
Irene enjoyed cooking, gardening, and reading. Along with her husband Raymond, they would vacation in Florida during the winter months. She especially loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. She was the vocalist in her husband’s dance band in the 1950’s. They often composed music together. Her family will always remember and cherish her kind, loving, and generous spirit.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Louise Brandeberry of Columbus, a brother, Alfred J. (Joan) Toro of Howland, a sister-in-law, June Ackermann of San Antonio, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond B. Goff Jr., who passed away December 27, 1994, two brothers Vincent Toro, and Alfonso Toro Jr., and a sister Gloria Barnes.
A private service was held for the family with Father Craig McHenry presiding, followed by burial at Pineview Cemetery in Warren.
