James C. Black

Las Vegas – James C. Black, 82, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 surrounded by his family at Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas.

            He was born August 6, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Robert and Dorothy Black.

            He was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and attended Youngstown State University. James retired from Packard Electric as an assembler. After he retired, he sold Real Estate part time. He was an avid sports fan and extraordinary athlete, was a lifetime member of the YMCA where he had numerous friends and who where a big part of his life. James was a Golden Glove winner from Struthers.

            Anybody who met Jim new about his unique personality and strong charm.  

            He is servived by his wife Jean Black of Las Vegas, two children James (Cindy) Black of Warren, and Bradley (Tricia) Black of Las Vegas, six grandchildren Brittany (Kevin) Shaw, Breana, Shannon, Brandon and Alissa Black, and Jaimie Nelman, five great grandchildren Gavin, Connor, Walker, Hailey and Dominic, and a brother Robert (Pat) Black of Las Vegas.

            He is preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters Marilyn Frazier and Barbara Pupillo.

            Family and friends may pay their respects Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (St. James Church) 2532 Burton St. NE, Warren, Ohio 44484.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. the Church with Rev. Christopher Henyk officiating.

Entombment will be in Pineview Cemetery in Warren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in James name to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish 2532 Burton St. NE, Warren, Ohio 44484.
