Warren – James L. “Jim” DeJacimo, 84, passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at Trumbull Memorial Regional Hospital.
He was born June 4, 1934, in Warren, Ohio the son of the late Anthony “Chine” and Barbara DeJacimo.
He attended Howland High School. Jim retired from Copperweld Steel after 34 years, after he kept busy as the grounds keeper at Avalon South and at the Peter Rossi & son Memorial Chapel for 20 years. He was a member of the K of C #4484 and was the Grand Knight in 1976, and the Sons Of Italy #2798 as a trustee. His proudest accomplishments were teaching and guiding his sons and many young Warren men the game of baseball, Jim was the coach representing Van’s Furniture gadget ball team.
He even built a baseball field for all the neighborhood boy’s in his back yard on Linda Drive. He was a true fan of all Major League sports. He was an avid Yankee Fan but we know the Indians were on his tv too.
Jim is survived by his wife Margaret J. “Margie” DeJacimo whom he married May 21, 1955, two sons Anthony “Tony” DeJacimo of Southington, and Gregory “Greg” DeJacimo of Leavitsburg, a brother Ronald (Shirley) DeJacimo of Howland, a daughter-in-law Bonnie DeJacimo of South Carolina, grandchildren Michael, Catrina of South Carolina, Anthony and Andrew of Liberty, five great grandchildren, and three sister-in-law’s Dorothy and Carol DeJacimo of Warren, Mary Balog of Liberty.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son James DeJacimo Jr., and two brothers Edward L. and Eugene DeJacimo.
Family and friends may pay their respects Monday, April 1, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
A service will be Tuesday, at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home with Rev. Peter J. Haladej officiating.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Jim’s name to Blessed Sacrament Church 3020 Reeves Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
