Joseph A. "Joe" Sergi

Niles – Joseph A. “Joe” Sergi, 76, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018 at the Cleveland Clinic after an extended illness.

            He was born November 4, 1942 in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late Albert and Rose Sergi.

            He was a 1961 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and attended Youngstown State University. He was a real estate developer and contractor for the past fifty years. Joseph was a member of Our Lady Mt. Carmel Church in Niles and Sons of Italy Lodge 2884, of which he was the President. He enjoyed golfing, the beach and watching car shows.

            He is survived by his wife, Colette (Hlas) Sergi, whom he married April 28, 1963; three children, Vincent (Molly) Sergi of Girard, Annmarie (Tim) Crish of Niles and Michael (Kristinn) Sergi of Niles; five grandchildren Jessica Crish, Isabella Sergi, and Ambrose, Asa and Anderson Sergi; two sisters, Marion Vigorito of Warren and Joni (James) Anderson of El Paso, Tx.; a brother-in-law, Philip Hlas of Stow, and two sisters-in-law, Norma (Frank) Conti of Howland and Cynthia Hlas of Howland.

            He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, David Hlas.

            Family and friends may pay their respects Monday, November 26, 2018 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 9:15 to 9:50 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.

            A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niles, with Rev. John-Michael Lavelle officiating.

            Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.

            In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joseph’s name to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 2415 Niles Rd SE, Warren, OH. 44484.
