WARREN — June W. Metter, 86, of Warren, passed away Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at the Trumbull Regional Medical Center in Warren.
She was born June. 25, 1932, in Nanty Glo, Pa, the daughter of the late Irene and Albert Starr.
June lived in Warren and retired after 30+ years from Packard Electric in 1992.
On Oct. 8, 1949, June was united in marriage to Louis Metter, who preceded her in death on October 15, 1986.
She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and slots, cooking, cake decorating, crocheting and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Metter is survived by her sons, Lou Jr. of Scottsdale, Az and James of Warren; her daughters Judith (Jack) Riggle of Warren, Eileen (Pat) Swayngim of Columbus, Alberta (Jon) Burke of Grove City, and Theresa (Steve) Lingenfelter of Brookville; her grandchildren, Janet (Joe) Perry, John Paul Riggle, Christian Swayngim, Melissa (Brad) McKenzie, Corey Hovance, Nicole (Tony) Pastorino, Maxine Metter, Brandon Lingenfelter, Mackenzie Lingenfelter; Kaitlin Burke, and Lou Metter III; her three great-grandchildren, Alexandria Perry and Sawyer and Celia McKenzie; and her siblings, John (Linda) Starr, David Starr, Jerry (Veronica) Starr, and Carolyn Jean (Vicy) Walker.
Besides her husband and parents, June was preceded in death by her brother, Robert (Marlene) Starr; and her sister, Eileen (Robert) Gintert.
The family would like to thank the 5th and 6th floor Nursing Staff at the Trumbull Regional Medical Center and Ohio Living Homecare and Hospice for their compassion and service.
A Catholic Service will be held at 1 pm. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483 with Fr. John Lody officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the Service.
