Stephen Michael Anthony

July 9, 1964 ~ July 21, 2017 (age 53) 53 Years Old

Vienna - Stephen Michael Anthony, age 53, died on July 21, 2017 after succumbing to a long battle with PTSD. 

Stephen retired from the USAFR as a Master Sergeant at the 910th Airlift Wing in Vienna OH.  During his 23 years of service, he was a craftsman (7 level) in three different Air Force skilled trades.  Stephen supported eight different contingency operations including Enduring and Iraqi Freedom  Operations.  Stephen was decorated 31 times, obtaining the Meritorious Service Medal for his personal dedication and commitment.   Stephen was a great mentor, mechanic, and wingman for all who had served with him.

"Stephen also served with the Howland Township Police Department before transferring to employment with the State of Ohio.  He retired from his public service career in 2016."

He was a member of the following groups:  the American Legion, the DAV of Trumbull County, the VFW, and the NRA.

Stephen was a man of honor, integrity and loyalty to family and country.  His favorite role of all time was as a father, husband and neighborhood “Uncle Steve.”  He enjoyed kickball, water wars, back yard fires, and camping.  He loved being a Howland Band Dad, Dance Dad and enjoyed teaching rocketry, auto mechanics and welding. He believed in one true God, had high moral values, and lived according to those values.

Mr. Anthony is survived by his wife Sally Ann, and their two children: Jacob Von and Tiana Nicole.  He is also survived by a brother Mark (Amanda) Anthony of Decatur, AL; sister Suzanne Anthony of Mayfield Heights, OH; his father-in-law, Grandpa Al (Marta)Ruiz of San Antonio, TX; five nephews, one niece, and other loving family members. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Clyde and Colleen Anthony.

            A memorial service will be held at Northmar Church, 3855 Market St., Warren, OH, on August 12, 2017, with calling hours from 10:00am-12:00pm, & services immediately following.
