Howland – Steve N. Coliadis, 80, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side.
He was born March 29, 1938, in Lindos Rhodes, Greece, the son of the late Nick and Kyriakoula Coliadis.
Steve came to the United States and settled in Warren, Ohio in 1954. He was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He retired in 2008 as the Co-owner with his wife of the Royal Lighting and Furniture Store on Rt 422, which he ran for 45 years. He previously worked at Copperweld Steel in inspection for 21 years. Steve was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Warren, and was a member the AHEPA #88, the PanRhodian Society, and the Home Builders’ Association. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, was a fix it man. Most of all, he enjoyed his grandchildren.
Steve served in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Crisis, stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky, as an interpreter.
He is survived by his wife Mary Coliadis of 53 years, two children Dr. Koula (Stavros) Coliadis-Anastasiades of Howland and Smaro (Michael) Karras of Woodbridge, VA, four grandchildren Maria and Tasso Anastasiades, and Eleni Karras and Michael Karras Jr., a brother Manio (Zenovia) Koliadis of Baltimore, MD, a sister Fedra (Sam) Frantzis of Toledo, OH, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Costas Coliadis and a nephew Nick Koliadis.
Family and friends may call Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a 6:15 p.m. Trisagion Service and a 6:30 p.m. AHEPA Service and Friday, June 15, 2018 from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
A service will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. Constantine Valantasis officiating.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be in Steve’s name to the St. Demetrios Scholarship Fund 429 High St. Warren, Ohio 44481.
