Warren – Vasilios G. “Bill” Raptis, 71, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019 at his home.
He was born December 12, 1948, in Ikaria, Greece, the son of the late George and Joann Raptis.
Bill came to the Warren in 1966 from Greece. He was previously the co-owner with his brother of Raptis Resturant on Rt 46 in Howland. Bill was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Warren. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling and was an avid soccer fan.
He is survived by his two sons George (Sarah) Raptis of Newton Falls, Simeon Raptis of Akron, a grandson Vasilios Raptis of Newton Falls, two brothers Chris (Despina) Raptis of Ikaria, Greece and Foti (Mary Ann) Raptis of Howland, a sister Maria (Stavros) Mbezaintes of Athens, Greece, and his ex-wife Elizabeth Raptis of Akron.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may pay their respects Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 429 High St. Warren, Ohio 44481.
A service will be Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church with Fr. Constantine Valantasis officiating.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Vasilios’s name to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 429 High St. Warren, Ohio 44481.
Arrangements are being handled by the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren.
