Champion – Victor “Vic” Chelsea, 90, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at St. Joseph Health Center with his family by his side.
He was born March 26, 1928, in Leavittsburg, Ohio, the son of the late Philip and Rafila Chelsea.
Vic was a graduate of culinary school in New Haven Connecticut. He retired from Copperweld Steel Corporation. Vic was a member of Holy Resurrection Romanian Orthodox Church in Warren. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, dancing, cooking, and having family gatherings.
Vic served our Country in the U.S. Army during WWII in Japan and also was a cook in the Merchant Marines.
He is survived by his daughter Diane Marie Chelsea of Streetsboro, a sister Virginia Lupu of Cortland, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Marie B. Chelsea, whom he married July 11, 1959 and who passed away on March 23, 1989, two brothers John and Philip Chelsea, and a sister Mary Streza.
Family and friends may pay their respects Monday, November 12, 2018 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Holy Resurrection Romanian Orthodox Church 1836 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
A service will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Church with Fr. Jonathan Cholcher officiating.
Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery in Warren.
