Warren – There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. William Church, Champion, with Father Michael D. Balash officiating, for Karen R. Bogan, 68, of Warren who passed away Thursday morning, July 5, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital, Warren.

Karen will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends.

She was born October 1, 1949, the daughter of the late Frank and Betty (Palcko) Nicpon and was a lifelong area resident.

Karen was a 1967 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and then attended Kent State University.

Karen retired after 21 years from the Warren City Police Department Detective’s Bureau as a secretary and previously worked at Copperweld Steel Company for 13 years as a secretary.

She was an active member of St. William Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered for their Friday Fish Fry Dinners during lent. 

Karen had many passions throughout her life. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing cards with her friends in their card clubs. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She leaves behind to hold onto her precious memories her husband H. “Ted” Bogan whom she married July 6, 1991, three children Melissa (Paul) Hadnett of Uniontown, Ohio, Mark (Mary) Hernon of Poland, Barry Hernon of Gilbert, Arizona, two step children Alaina (Bill) Paparodis of Poland and Jared Bogan of Naperville, Illinois, twelve grandchildren Jason, Brian, Mark, Nora, Sean, Heidi, Owen, Liam, Ryan, Christopher, William and Brooklyn, and a brother Frank “Tony” (Susan) Nicpon, Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Rd., NE, Warren and again on Thursday July 12, 2018 from 9:30 am until 9:55 am at St. William Church, Champion. 

Entombment will take place at All Souls Cemetery, Cortland.

In lieu of flowers material contributions may be made in Karen’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
