Warren – Alexander Hernandez, 90, passed away peacefully with family in the comfort of Humility of Mary Hospice House after a long illness. He was born April 12, 1923 in Gregory, Texas, the son of Manuel and Genevieve Rios Hernandez. He attended Bolindale Elementary and graduated from Howland High School in 1942 where he lettered in both baseball and basketball. On June 23, 1950 he married Mary Catherine Zito and was employed by Ohio Edison until his retirement in 1987. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, Nortre Dame and J.F.K. football. Throughout his life he selflessly helped family. He found much joy in working with his hands and heart while gardening, landscaping, woodworking and a side business painting houses. He was a devoted member of St. James Catholic Church. A proud family man, he was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by his family. He is survived by his wife, Mary, Children, Diana (Rick) Muccio, Donna (Cliff) Mahan and David Hernandez all of Warren; grandchildren whom he enjoyed immensely, Doug (Brittany) and Nick (Natalie) Muccio, Alisa (Tim) Zeitz, Nathan, Alaina (Jason Davis) and Steve Mahan, Alexandra and Alex Hernandez; and two great grand-grandsons, Benjamin Zeitz and Luca Muccio; a sister Mary Louise Wilson and three brothers, Richard "Butch", Ruben, and Jesse in Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Manuel, Joseph, Robert, Anthony and Samuel. Family and friends may call Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Parish (St. James Church) 2532 Burton St. SE Warren, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Church with Rev. William J. Loveless officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Bazetta.
