WARREN - Alexander T. Masaitis, 83, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at St. Joseph Health Center.

He was born Aug. 13, 1928, in Star Junction, Pa., the son of Alex and Anna Prox Masaitis.

Mr. Masaitis served in the U.S. Army and was retired from American Welding Co. He was also a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, the former Bettie L. Clower; three sons, Alan T. of Warren, Michael A. of Como, Miss., and David A. of Middlefield; two daughters, Annette M. Dye of Newton Falls and Karen L. Dilley of Champion; a sister, Carol Bates of Lowellville; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home and an hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery.
