Newton Falls - Altomira Rose De Capito, 104, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Laurie Ann Nursing Home. Rose was born November 23, 1908 in Bedford, Ohio the daughter of Antonio "Anthony" and Pasqua Marie Ceo. Rose married her husband Louis J DeCapito, Sr. on May 7, 1927. He preceded her in death May 25, 1992. Rose and Louis moved from Warren to Newton Falls after their retirement in 1969. Rose worked 25 years in the children's clothing department at Carlisles. She was a member of St. Joseph Church. She lived her retirement life on the family farm, taking care of sheep, cows, chickens and a large family garden. Her hobbies included canning tomatoes and peppers and cooking pizza with her homemade sauce. She was an avid Steelers fan. At 97 she was still pitching baseball to her great grandson Zackary and even ran the bases with him. Rose never missed a baseball or football game Zackary played in. Rose took great joy in caring for her numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is survived by her six grandchildren: Joseph P. (Jennifer) Urbania, Jr, Cindy (Michael) Harley, Roseanne Cabot, Tomi Westover all of Newton Falls, Louis Ciferno, and Timothy Urbania, a sister, Louise Corsi of Garfield Hts. and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, a son Louis J. DeCapito, Jr. two daughters Cheryl Urbania and Esther Hardenbrook, and eight brothers and sisters. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. Service will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home with Fr. James P. Walker officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland, Ohio.
