Warren - Ann L. Burr, 78, passed away Monday, April 13, 2015, at Autumn Hills Manor. She was born April 19, 1936 Youngstown, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Nola Sampson. Ann was a graduate of Garrettsville High School. She attended Oberlin College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and English. Her academic achievements were honored with membership into both the Phi Beta Kappa Honorary and Phi Alpha Theta History Honorary. She also earned a Masters in Arts in History from Western Reserve University. She had previously taught Junior High Social Studies in Cleveland Heights School System. Ann was a Docent for the Butler Art Gallery in Youngstown, Ohio. She enjoyed needlepoint, was an avid reader and belonged to a book club for over 30 years. Ann was of the Methodist Faith. She is survived by her husband Ordwell "Ord" Burr whom she married August 4, 1957, two children Perry (Michelle) Burr of Germantown, MD, and Rebecca (Steven) Sander of Middletown, Ohio, four grandchildren Emily and Alexander Burr and Ethan and Jackson Sander, a brother Thomas (Arlene) Sampson of Phoenix, AZ, and several nieces, great nieces and great nephews. Family and friends may call Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00 noon at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. Service will be immediately following visiting hours at the Funeral home with Pastor Dan officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Boardman.
