Anna Judith Dyson, 90, formerly of Champion, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Eagle Pointe Assisting Living in Orwell with her family by her side.
Mrs. Dyson was born on August 23, 1924 in E. Union Township, PA, a daughter of the late Michael J. and Anna (Gaydosh) Horvath Jr.
She was of the catholic faith and was a former member of St. William Catholic Church and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Dyson loved planting her vegetable gardens with her late husband, Charles. Her love for life showed in her children. She was an outstanding cook, leaving great recipes to her daughter Judy and daughter in law Mary Ellen.
Anna married Charles B. Dyson Sr. on January 13, 1951 and they were married for 25 years until his passing on October 4, 1976.
Anna is survived by her two sons, Charles (Linda) of Bristolville and Michael (Mary Ellen) of West Farmington; a daughter Judy (John) McCartney of Bristolville; and a sister Mary Jaskowick of Champion. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Beth (Joe) Dyson Cleer, Charles (Barbie), Rebekah (Mike) Bartholomew, Steven (Laura) Dyson, Eric McCartney and Kimberly McCartney; and fourteen great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Anna was preceded in death by a grandson Leigh McCartney and a brother John Horvath.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:20 a.m. in the narthex of St. William Catholic Church, 5431 Mahoning Ave, Warren, Ohio 44483.
A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Michael D. Balash officiating, in the church.
Burial will take place in Gustavus Cemetery in Gustavus Township at a later date.
The family would like to give their deepest thanks to the staff at Eagle Pointe for their kindness and care they gave to Anna and also to Hospice of the Western Reserve for their outstanding care and love they showed to Anna and her family and for making Anna's final days peaceful.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Mrs. Dyson's name to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave, Cleveland, Ohio 44110.
