Anthony "Tony"
Dicenso Jr
January 9, 1932 – July 7, 2015
Anthony (Tony) DiCenso, Jr., 83 lifelong resident of Warren, quietly passed on July 7, 2015 with his family lovingly by his side. To those privileged enough to call him family or friend, this date will not soon escape memory. He was born January 9, 1932 in Warren, son to Antonio DiCenso, Sr. from Silvi Marina, Italy and his wife Rosaria. He was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School Class of 1950, and attended Youngstown State University before enlisting and serving in the US Coast Guard for 3 years. On June 26, 1954, he married his sweetheart Juanita "Nita" Hartill and recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. He worked 17 years for the county Auditor as an appraiser before going successfully into business for himself. A member of the Warren Rotary, YMCA, and avid supporter of the Boy Scouts, Tony concerned himself with contributing actively & positively to the community. Tony enjoyed jogging, making home-made pasta for his family, and fishing off his boat "TONITA", in Siesta Key, Florida where he made his winter home for many years. His church home, St. Mary's in downtown Warren, saw him regularly attend and willingly participate. Tony's integrity in faith, devotion to family and affection for country will forever live on, inspiring our best efforts as we uphold and honor his legacy. The time he gave us will be cherished, and his memory preserved by his beloved wife Nita and their six children: Renee (Steve) Cicero, Brenda (Rick) Jones, Marcie DiCenso, Jacki (Tom) Duma, Anthony (Tina) DiCenso and Rosanne DiCenso. Eight grandchildren: Joshua (Jenny) and Jeremy (Vanessa) Thomas, Natalie and Clayton Jones, Cody, Cory, and Gabriella Duma and Abigail DiCenso. Six great grandchildren: Anthony, Austin, Grace, Dominic, Julian and Joel Thomas. Three sisters: Gloria Massacci, Elvira Massacci, and Lucille (Ted) Kowalczyk. One sister-in-law: Rosemarie DiCenso. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Fred and Frank DiCenso, and one infant son Richard Michael DiCenso. In Life, his loyalty as a husband and father was never questioned and rightfully admired. Nita came first, a timeless love that carried over to his children and indeed everyone he knew. He embraced his family until his last breath. He lived with purpose, loved with passion, and died with honor. Buonanotte Tony. Friends and family will be received at St. Mary's church for one hour prior to an 11am Mass held in Tony's honor with Father Bernard Schmalried officiating, Saturday July 11th. Material contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley or St. Mary's Chur
