Cleveland - Arthur Patrick Rich, 90, and formerly of Warren and Niles, Ohio passed away Sunday April 5, 2015 at the V.A. Medical Center in Cleveland. Art was born December 23, 1924 in Niles, Ohio the son of the late Joseph and Nicolette Rich. Art was first chair clarinet at Niles McKinley Band where he graduated in 1942. Later he played in the Johnny Mason Orchestra in Niles. After graduation he served in the United States Army Air Corps during WW II. He was Turrent Gunner and bombardier in a B-24 Liberator and survived a runway crash of a B-17 Flying Fortress. While stationed in Idaho he met and Married his wife Wanda (Rich). He began his career at Cox Lithographing in Warren as Graphic Arts Photographer and in Denver, CO, and Cleveland, OH. In addition to being a founding member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Art enjoyed fishing, boating, photography and antique collecting. He is survived by his children Arlene D. Keen of Howland, Linda S. Rich of Maryland, and Deborah (Jake) Rich of Boston, MA, and Bruce (Kathy) Rich of Montana, four grandchildren Robert and David Keen of Howland Emily and Benjamin Rich of Montana, sisters Rose Zubyk of Niles and friend Mary Malinosky of Cleveland. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Julia Rich and former wife Wanda. Family and friends may call Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Warren with Rev. Thomas Eisweirth officiating. Entombment will be in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna with Full Military Honors. The Family wishes to thank the staff at the Louis B. Stokes VA Medical Center for the care and respect they gave Art, especially the nurses in the Heroes Harbor Hospice Unit.
