Obituary

Paul G. Nader, 89, prominent Warren Attorney and civic leader died November 19, 2014 in Warren. He was a long-time partner in the firm of Nader and Nader which he founded with his brother the Honorable Robert A. Nader. A lifelong resident of Warren, Paul was born on June 3, 1925 to Nassif and Emily Nader. He graduated from Warren G. Harding High School. He was a member of the Warren G. Harding Band where he developed his love of music and the clarinet. He volunteered during World War II in the United States Army Air Corps as a pilot and was trained as a flight engineer top gunman on the B-17 Flying Fortress among many assignments. After his honorable discharge from the service in 1946, he graduated from Adelbert College of the Western Reserve University before attending Western Reserve School of Law and graduating from the Cleveland-Marshall School of Law in 1953. Paul was a brother in Lambda Chi Alpha. Paul married Sylvia Tanner on October 13, 1961 in Warren. He is survived by his spouse and three children, Thomas (Molly) Nader of Warren, Abby (Phillip) Lewandowski of Akron and Amy (James) Nader-Hutter of Columbus; six grandchildren Joseph, John, Jonathan, Anne, Christian and Zachary. His brother and longtime law partner, the Honorable Robert A. Nader and his wife Nancy also survive him along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Rachel, Louise, and Genevieve and his brother Joseph. Paul was a respected attorney in the community where he lived his entire life. In 1953, Paul and his brother, Robert, founded Nader and Nader. Paul was an assistant county prosecutor under the Honorable Lynn B. Griffith, Jr. from 1961 to 1966. A past president of the Trumbull County Bar Association, he was a member of the bar for 60 years. In addition to his family and law practice, Paul was involved in many organizations. A professional musician, Paul was a member of the American Federation of Musicians since 1946 and was its secretary for fifteen years. He was a member of the Warren Area Chamber of Commerce where he co-chaired the Avalon Golf Committee which through the Chamber acquired and developed the original Avalon Lake Golf Course working with legendary golf course architect Pete Dye. He was a long term member of the Elks, Kiwanis, Trumbull Country Club and the Knights of Columbus, where he founded an enduring Boy Scout Troop. He was also a past president of the Buckeye Club. He had a lifelong love of athletics, particularly handball and golf and Warren scholastic athletics. Calling hours will be held at Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 2 to 4 PM and Monday from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday November 24, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Warren with Rev. Bernard Schmalzried officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Warren G. Harding Band Parent Booster Club in care of the Warren G.
