Niles - August "Augie" Macciocca, 85, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Shepherd of the Valley in Niles. Augie was born February 1, 1928 in Warren, Ohio the son of Pasquale and Assunta "Sundine" Macciocca. He was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. Augie retired from the GM Assembly Plant in Lordstown as a maintenance painter. He was a member of St. Pius X Church, Uaw Local 1112 and the YMCA. He enjoyed golfing, racquet ball, handball and dancing. August served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WW II. He is survived by his nephews Frank (Lillian) Pezzano of Niles and Joseph (Lorie) Pezzano of New Castle, great nephews and nieces Frank, Connie, Francesca and Joey Pezzano, and his companion Donna Harrison of Cortland. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Frances Pezzano, brother-in-law Dominic Pezzano Sr., nephew Dominic Pezzano Jr.. Family and friends may call Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. Service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home with Rev. James P. Walker officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
