Obituary

Barbara "Bobbie" Rose (Burless) Delaquila of Howland lost her 22 year battle with cancer on Tuesday, December 6 th , 2022 at the age of 77 years old.

Barbara was born on July 14 th , 1945 in Waynesburg, PA to John and Rose Burless. She lived in Bobtown, PA and graduated from Mapletown High School in 1963. She went on to earn her BS in Education from West Virginia University graduating in 1967.

She moved to Warrren in 1967 and began her teaching career in Warren City Schools where she worked until her retirement in 1997. She married her husband, Michael on December 28 th , 1973 and spent 48 wonderful years together.

Barbara was a devout Catholic and member of the Blessed Sacrament parish. She supported many charitable organizations over the years, which continued up until her passing. She was an avid collector, loved reading, trying her luck at the casino or race track and watching sports, especially golf and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers and WVU Mountaineers. But most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Michael G. Delaquila of Howland, her son Michael John Delaquila and his wife Olivia of Cortland, her sisters Bernie Miller Orfanos of Warren and Christina Campbell and her husband Jim of Howland, and her brother-in law Richard Delaquila of Warren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-laws Murray Miller and Peter Orfanos, Samuel Delaquila and his wife Dorothy and sister-in-law, Bonnie Delaquila.

There will be a mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 9 th at Blessed Sacrament in Warren. A viewing will be held at 10:00am with mass following at 11:00am.

The family would like to recognize all of the doctors and nurses that cared for and supported Barbara during her courageous battle, especially Dr Amy Awaida and the staff of the Hope Center for Cancer in Howland.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a charitable donation to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or the Hope Center for Cancer in Howland.
