WARREN - Betty Homlitas, 83, passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, after a four-month battle with cancer.

Betty was born Aug. 19, 1926, in Pennsylvania, a daughter of James and Gernetta Keffer Cavalcant. She had one sister, Anna B. Shields. All three preceded her in death.

Betty married Edward Homlitas on July 31, 1948, and became a homemaker and mother of two sons, Gary and Dennis, who survive her and live in Warren.

With her husband, Betty enjoyed traveling, gardening, canning vegetables and playing cards with her Tuesday evening club. She was also a very good bowler.

As one of her last wishes, Betty wanted to thank her dear relatives, wonderful nieces and nephews, good neighbors and friends for the love and support that they have given her.

May she rest in peace. There will be no calling hours, and cremation will place.
