Obituary

Warren - Betty Pauley, 74, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Cleveland Clinic, surrounded by the love of her family. Her passing leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family who will forever carry her love in their hearts.

Betty was born on January 7, 1952, in Charleston, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine (Larabee) Wright. She attended school in Nitro, West Virginia, before moving to Warren, Ohio, in the early 1970s, where she made her home and built a life centered around the people she loved most.

Betty’s top priority in life was taking care of her family. A proud homemaker, she found her greatest joy in creating a warm and loving home for those around her. She cherished cooking for her family, hosting holidays and gatherings, and, above all, spending precious time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love was felt in the countless meals she prepared, the traditions she created, and the comfort she so freely gave.

In her free time, Betty enjoyed gardening and tending to her plants, watching horror movies, and cheering on the Cleveland Browns. She also loved playing Bingo and enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino. These simple pleasures, along with her wonderful sense of humor and generous heart, were a part of what made Betty so special to those who knew her.

Betty will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Keith Pauley, Michelle (Steven) Barrass, Julie Heckrow, and Yonna Heckrow (Marcus Sullivan), all of Warren; her grandchildren, Keith Jr., Kaitlyn, Marissa, Sean, Mishyla, Matt, Trenton, and Honesty; her great-grandchildren, Carter, Adelyne, Grayson, Zayden, and Sean Jr.; her siblings, Charlotte Allen of Warren, Dempsey Wright of North Carolina, and Johnny Wright of Louisiana; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her significant other, Matt Heckrow Jr.; daughter-in-law, Michelle Pauley; her sisters, Yonna Stitle and Melissa Smith; and her brothers, Thomas Wright and James Larabee.

Betty’s greatest legacy was the love she poured into her family. She will be remembered for the warmth of her home, the care she gave so freely, the laughter she shared, and the countless memories she created with those she loved. Though her absence will be deeply felt, her love will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Betty on Monday, August 31, 2026 from 12 pm to 1pm at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel of Warren, 1884 North Road NE.

A Funeral Service will follow at the funeral home at 1 pm and a private burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Park
