Obituary

Pensacola, FL – Carolyn Sue (Pillar) DeJacimo, 55, of Pensacola, FL, formerly of Warren, passed away on August 3, 2022 of natural causes.

Carolyn was born on March 17, 1967, a daughter of James Sr. and Gloria Pillar.

She was a graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School and went on to earn an education degree from Kent State University.

Carolyn had a passion for teaching and was well-respected in her field after 30 years. She first taught in the Warren City Schools, where she was an A Plus teacher. Then she taught at Ravenna JVS and McCracken Middle School in Bluffton, SC, where she was the head of the math department. Carolyn also taught for Life Skills High School in Dayton and, most recently, at Success Academy in Pensacola, FL where she was named teacher of the year in 2021-2022.

Besides her work, Carolyn liked the beach and going to casinos with family and friends.

Carolyn will be sadly missed by her parents, James Sr. and Gloria Pillar; brother, James Jr. (Stephanie) Pillar of Huntsville, AL; sister, Deborah (Chris) Gregor of Basehor, KS; nieces, Josie and Camryn Pillar of Brookpark, OH; Sylvia, her beloved dog and other family and friends.

Cremation has taken place and no services will be held.

Local arrangements are entrusted to the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel of Warren, 1884 North Road NE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Escambia Co. Animal Shelter, 200 West Fairfield Drive. Pensacola, FL 32501
