Charles Kwortek Sr., 85, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at St. Joseph Health Center. He was born Nov. 30, 1926, in Brier Hill, Pa., the son of John and Anna Martina. He served in the Navy in World War II.

He retired from LTV Steel, and was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish at St. James Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Betty Bowie Kwortek; a son, Charles Sr. of Howland; two daughters, Carol Bromley-Kwortek of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Diana Christie of Warren; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery.
