Obituary

Howland - Charles J. Tomazin, 93, passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. He was born February 14, 1922, in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late Karl and Louise Tomazin. He was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. Charles had been in the Food Service Business his whole life. He worked for Youngstown Creamery and previously was the Owner and Operator of Wonder Market on Youngstown Rd. and Charles J. Tomazin Wholesale Distributing Company. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, had been an Adult Server and Eucharistic Minister, volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul Society, and ran the bingo fund raiser for the Church for years. He enjoyed his gin card games at the Elks BOP290, and was a very active officer of the Warren Chapter of the 83rd infantry Division. "Charlie" was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Indians. Charles was a decorated veteran serving in the U.S. Army WW II 83rd Infantry. He is survived by his two children Karen (Raymond) Majeski of Henderson, NV, and Charles E. (Lesley) Tomazin of Gibsonia, PA, four grandsons Mark Majeski, John, Colin and Sean Tomazin, a sister Josephine Yusko of Transfer, PA, and a brother Frank (JoAnne) Tomazin of Chula Vista, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ann E. Tomazin whom he married August 23, 1947 and who passed away June 6, 2015, a brother Edward Tomazin and a sister Dorothy Strah Family and friends may call Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren and Saturday from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church with Rev. Thomas Eisweirth officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta. Material contributions may be made in Charles name to Blessed Sacrament St. Vincent de Paul Society or Blessed Sacrament Church 3020 Reeves Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
