Obituary

Clemens John Borucki, 87, passed away at 12:36 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Hospice House in Poland, after a courageous battle with bladder cancer and is now at peace with his heavenly father.

Clemens was born May 26, 1924, in Glassport, Pa., the son of John and Helen Urbansky Borucki.

Clemens served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He then served in the U.S. Marine Corps 4th Division 23rd Regiment during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Clemens witnessed the famous flag raising on the island of Iwo Jima. He was honorably discharged on July 21, 1946, and awarded the Sharpshooter Medal and various operations ribbons.

Clemens graduated from Penn State University with a degree in engineering and became a general foreman at a Fisher Body plant outside of McKeesport, Pa. He eventually took a job at a Chrysler plant in Twinsburg before working for Taylor-Winfield Co. in Warren for 22 years. Clemens was a dedicated and active charter member of Blessed John Paul II Parish at St. Pius X Catholic Church for many years.

Clemens' greatest joy was being with his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved listening and dancing to polka music and playing the accordion. Clemens enjoyed fishing and boating, had a pilot's license and loved flying.

Clemens' wife, Dorothy J. Stepansky Borucki, whom he married Nov. 29, 1947, passed away suddenly July 4, 1975, leaving him to raise their three daughters who survive, Kathy A. (Ed) Stankovich of Las Vegas, Marcia A. McCreary of Cortland and Lorraine H. Borucki Dively of Bristolville. He also leaves nine grandchildren, Holly (Richard) Spicer, Donald (Jennie) Dermer Jr., Danielle (Jeff) Mimnaugh, Erica (Steve) Thompson, Cory Christie, Hayley McCreary, Monique McCreary, Nicholas Rimar Dively and Christopher Dively. He also leaves his great-grandchildren, Marissa and Emma Dermer, Allison and Ethan Mimnaugh and Connor Thompson; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Clemens was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Borucki; and a sister, Claire Jackson.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday with a rosary being said at 7:30 p.m. at Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Blessed John Paul II Parish at St. Pius X Catholic Church, preceded by a 9:20 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery with military honor guard services.
