Warren, OH - Darla Fousek passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Hospice of the Valley House in Poland, Ohio. Darla was born September 20, 1953 in Warren, Ohio the daughter of Michael and Katherine Bender. She attended Warren Harding High School graduating in 1970. Darla Attended Kent State University and continued her education at the University of Michigan where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Wildlife Management. She worked with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service as a Wildlife Biologist helping to restoring the Florida Everglades. She was previously employed by several county and state agencies as a Biologist/Botanist in Southeast Florida for 30 years. Darla was an avid birder and loved all animals, traveling extensively throughout the United States. She was a member of Saint James Orthodox Church in Port St Lucie, Florida. Darla was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years Steve Fousek, a brother Rodney (Paula)Bender, Sister Joyce Bender, and 6 nieces. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 21st at 11:30 am, at Saint John's Orthodox Church, OCA located at 2220 Reeves Road, Warren, Ohio with Fr. Jonathon Cholcher. The family will receive visitors 1 hour before the service, and internment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Valley and the Hospice House for their compassionate care and support.
