Dunedin, FL. - Despina (Tessie) Skandaliaris, 74, of Dunedin, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Suncoast Hospice House following an extended illness. Tessie was born April 27, 1940 in Warren, Ohio. She was the daughter of George and Aspasia Tsagaris. She was a 1957 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. In 1959 she married John Skandaliaris. While living in Warren, she was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. Her real estate sales career began in the 70's while working for Zamarelli Real Estate. She later became a broker and formed her own company Tesco Real Estate with offices in Warren and Brookfield. She was a member of the Warren Area Board of Realtors. Upon retiring to Naples, Florida, Tessie kept busy spending time with her granddaughter, and cooking and baking of which she was quite accomplished. She is survived by her husband John; daughter Alisa (Dan) Peterson of Round Lake, Illinois; son William (Kellie) Skandaliaris of Dunedin, FL, granddaughter Tia Skandaliaris of Naples, FL; a sister Helen Roussakies and brother Jimmy (Patty) Tsagaris of Warren; nephews Michael Roussakies of Warren and Jimmy Tsagaris, Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Anthie Tsagaris. Visitation took place at Dobies Funeral Home in Tarpon Springs, FL. Funeral Service took place at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Tarpon Springs, officiated by Fr. Rousakies. A military burial followed at the National Veterans Cemetery in Sarasota, Fl.
