Warren – Dominic White, 94, passed away Monday, January 23, 2017 at Gillette Nursing Home in Warren.

He was born December 31, 1922 in Youngstown, Ohio the son of the late John and Victoria White.

He was a 1942 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School.

He worked at the Atlas Powder Company in Ravenna, OH until he enlisted in the United State Army in 1943. Dominic was a Private First Class cannoneer in the Battery C 220 ^th Field Artillery Battalion in the 44 ^th infantry Division. During World War II, Dominic fought in the French, Rhineland and German Campaigns. He was awarded the Good Conduct, American Campaign, European/African/ Middle Eastern Campaign and the World War II Victory Medals, during his time in service until his honorable discharge in January 1946. While stationed in Heidelberg, Germany, Dominic met the love of his life, Gerda Annamarie Schrock, whom he married in 1948.

He retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance as manager after 20 years and had previously worked at Mullins Manufacturing. Dominic attended St. Mary's Church and Blessed Sacrament Church in Warren.

He is survived by his wife Gerda White of 68 years who he married June 14, 1948, a daughter Deborah "Debbie" (Richard) Thomas of Howland, two grandchildren Erika (Chris) Losnegard of Fullerton, CA, Corey Thomas of Howland, and one great granddaughter Arya.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sister Vera Hiryok, and Carol Razzano.

Family and friends may pay their respects Saturday, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church 3020 Reeves Rd. Warren, Ohio 44483.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Church with Rev. Thomas Eisweirth officiating.

Burial will be in all Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
