Warren - Donald Maniatis died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Hospice of the Valley, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Don was born in Warren, Ohio, the youngest son of the late Michael and Louise Maniatis. He graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1957, and served in the United States Army National Guard. Don earned a Class-A Electrician Degree from ITT Technical Institute, worked many years at Van Huffel Tube Corporation, and later retired from GM Packard Electric. Don will be greatly missed by his longtime companion, Pat Medallis, Cortland; brother Bob Maniatis (Kitty) Howland; sister Pat Zban , Hartville, (whose husband Milan is deceased); aunt Doris (Sam) Gresh; numerous cousins, nieces. nephews; former wife Carol Jean (Hawk) Sims; many of God's creatures great and small, a host of long-time friends across the country; special friends John Hlaudy, Warren Carr, Ralph Carbone, Steve Kunkle and Ed Minor; also very special friend V.J. Carr, who gave selflessly of his time, care and love during Don's confinement. To honor Don's wishes there will be no services. His ashes will be scattered in places he loved.
