Obituary

Niles - Doris J. Capito, 85, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born April 22, 1930 in Niles, Ohio the daughter of the late Joseph and Angela LaPolla. She was a 1948 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. She had worked for Strauss at the Eastwood Mall as a sales clerk. Doris was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niles and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Warren Knights of Columbus #4484. She enjoyed crafts, seamstress, baking, card club and working various kinds of puzzles. She is survived by her children Guy Martin "Marty" (Maureen) Capito of Akron, Patricia (David Shaffer) Shelley, Thomas "Tom" (Nora) Capito, and Lisa (Bob), all of Niles, eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren a brother Anthony LaPolla of Arizona and a sister Carolyn (Anthony) Skiffey of Austintown, OH. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Guy J. "Pint" Capito whom she married June 16, 1951 and passed away November 9, 2012, a daughter Karen Capito, two grandchildren Robbie and Troy, a great grandson Jaden and ten siblings. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niles with Rev. John-Michael Lavelle officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
