Champion - Dorothy "Dottie" Popa-Scharba, 89, passed away Monday, January 4, 2015 at Gillette Nursing Home. She was born November 10, 1926 in Sharon, PA, the daughter of the late James & Elizabeth Jones. Dottie came to the Warren area in 1970. She retired from Packard Electric in 1981 as an inspector in the quality control department. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and quilting for abused families. She is survived by her children Archbishop Antony (John) Scharba of South Bound Br, NJ, Carol Waldron of Champion, David Scharba of Fowler, Richard (Carla) Scharba of Kinsman, and Ronald Scharba of Kinsman, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson Richard Scharba, four brothers Charles, David, John and Thomas Jones, and three sisters Margaret Melius, Maxine Hawkes and Edna Aurand. Above all else Dottie was a loving, caring and supportive "mom" "gram" and great "gram" as well as a dear friend to all who knew her. She looked for the positive side of everyone and sought to enhance it by her words and deeds. Family and friends may call Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 to 11:00 a.m at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483. A service will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home with Bishop Daniel Zelinsky Officiating.
