Warren – Dorothy M. Shobel, 86, of Warren passed away on Sunday morning, January 28, 2024 surrounded by her family

Dorothy was born on September 30, 1937, a daughter of Peter and Dorothy (Bosilovich) Kushan. She grew up in Leavittsburg, OH, where she attended Leavittsburg High School.

Besides being a proud homemaker, Dorothy was an avid bowler in her younger years. She enjoyed doing the newspaper puzzles and was a good cook and an even better baker. Dorothy was known for her nut rolls and assortment of different cookies at Christmas time. Most of all, she loved her family and friends. Whether it was watching the kids or just talking on the phone, Dorothy cherished the time she spent with those she loved. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dorothy will always be remembered by her husband, David Shobel of Warren; children, Barbara Scott of Warren, Joe (Deb) Danko of Stow, Ed (Angie) Danko of Warren, Dawn Danko of Warren, Carrie Danko of Mentor and Deann (Lee) Pettry of Leavittsburg; grandchildren, Joe (Ashley) Danko, David (Sarah) Danko, Michael (Stephanie) Danko, Amber Danko, Kristen Boyle, Nathaniel Danko (fiancé Taylor Hayes), and Rylee, Adam and Noah Pettry; great grandchildren, McKenzie, Charlotte, Jackson and Aviella; sister, Mary Lutz and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her grandson, Edward  J. Danko; son-law-law, Leonard Scott; sister, Barbara Vine and two brothers.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Dorothy on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 11-12noon at Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 180 Belvedere Ave NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.

A Funeral Service, with Rev. William Rupp officiating, will follow at 12 noon on Saturday at the church.

Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Lordstown
