Earl J. Kopnisky, of Warren, passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 at 6:46 p.m. in his home. He was 89 years old.

Earl was born on October 11, 1923 in Maxwell, Pennsylvania the son of the late John and Anna (Bednar) Kopnisky.

A graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Earl continued his education with a bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University and retired after 32 years of service on October 31, 1983 from the Sales Department of Packard Electric and was known and recognized for never missing a day of work.

A United States Army veteran, Earl served his country during WWII in the European Theater.

Earl was a charter member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church in Warren, where he was an Adult Altar Server and Eucharistic Minister and a member of its 50+ club and a volunteer at the pierogi sale. He was also a member of SCOPE and Knights of Columbus. Earl enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cards. He was also an avid Cleveland Indians fan.

Earl is survived by his wife of 66 years the former Elizabeth A. (Betty) Ulishney, whom he married on April 19, 1947; two daughters Marian Kopnisky of Warren and Germaine (Sam) Curry of Columbus; a sister Betty Falatic of Warren; four grandchildren Kristen (Ray) Schmoll, Jamie, Beth and Tim Curry; two great grandsons Roman and Logan and his beloved pets Molly and Harry.

Calling hours will take place on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow in the church.

Burial will take place in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to MVI Hospice 4891 Belmont Ave, Youngstown, Ohio 44505 or to the Heritage Fund of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church, 185 Laird Ave NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
