Cortland - Edward R. Loomis, 70, of Cortland passed away Friday, November 22, 2013 from an apparent Heart Attack. Edward was born May 11, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of Edward C. and Shirley Loomis. He moved to Warren as a young child. He was a 1961 graduate of Maplewood High School upon graduation he became a lithographer, he worked in this industry until he retired. Edward was a longtime member of Mecca Fire Department where he held the position of Chief from June 1979 until December 1984. He enjoyed fishing for Walleye on Mosquito Lake and occasionally Lake Erie. He was an avid sports fan always cheering on the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers. He is survived by his wife Janice Loomis whom he married July 7, 1962, mother Shirley Loomis, four daughters Connie Sanfrey of Golf Port, Miss., Debra (Phil) Elswick of Johnston, Brenda (Ronald) Dalessandri of Cortland and Vicki (Steven) Shamrock of Bradenton, FL., six grandchildren Ashley, Taylor, Eddie, Riley, Seth and Sebastian, two brothers Ronald (Barbara) Loomis and Raymond (Cathy) Loomis both of Warren, two sisters Nancy ( Ed) Meeker of Mecca and Tina (Keith) Hartman of Johnston and his beloved dog Lulu. He is preceded in death by his father. Per Edwards request there will be no calling hours or service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, Warren, Ohio.
