Cortland - Edwin "Ed" Marshall, 88, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at St. Joseph Health Center. He was born February 6, 1927, in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late Glen and Caroline Marshall. Ed retired from Thomas Steel Strip as an electrical foreman in 1984 and had been the Treasurer of Thomas Steel Strip Credit Union for many years. He was a life member of the VFW 7614 where he had been Post Commander in 1994. He enjoyed nature, bowling, tinkering around and spending time with his family. Ed served in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife May Marshall whom he married June 27, 1997, a brother Charles (Jean) Marshall, a sister Joan (Sam) Pecorell both of Howland, two children Eric (Michelle) Marshall of Fowler, and Lisa Marshall of Cuyahoga Falls, step son: Mark (Gwen) Miller of Kingston, RI, step daughters Susan Headley of Alliance, Helen Rosenberg of Hudson, Jeannette (Christopher) Sanders of Warren, Cindy Ross of Jupiter, FL, and Heidi (Russell) Kortright of Pennelville, NY, three grandchildren Haley Crites, Kaitlin and Justin Marshall, thirteen step grandchildren and eleven step great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Barbara J. Vaughn, daughter Greta Sue Marshall, and a brother Donald T. Marshall. Family and friends may call Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio. A service will be Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Cortland on Monday.
