Obituary

Champion - Elizabeth G. "Betty" Petrosky, 83, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at her residence. She was born March 16, 1931 in Apollo, PA, the daughter of the late John and Mary Stefaniak. Betty came to the Warren area in 1949. She retired in 1981 from Packard Electric after 30 years as a press operator. She was a member of St. William Church in Champion and very active at Our Shrine of the Lady of Lebanon, and St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Parish Rosary Group. Betty enjoyed baking and was known by her friends, co-workers and relatives as "Betty the baker". Betty was one of fourteen children. She is survived by her children Denise A. (Frank "Butch") Butcher of Champion, Richard A. (Elaine) Petrosky of Southington, Donald P. (Dee Dee) Petrosky of Cortland and Deanne M. (Dino) Steinbeck of Howland, nine grandchildren, Katie, David, Hannah, Maddie, and Lexie Petrosky, Bridget and Tessa Butcher, Julie Steinbeck and Krista (Jason) Clawges, two great grandchildren Brooklin, and Brennen Clawges, a brother Frank Stefaniak of Apollo, PA. a brother-in-law Frank Frampton of Apollo, PA, and a sister-in-law Dorothy Stefaniak of Apollo, PA. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard "Dick" Petrosky whom she married October 17 and passed away May 3, 1989, and also six brothers and six sisters. Family and friends may call Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial Monday 11:30 a.m. at St. William Church in Champion with Rev. Michael D. Balash officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Betty's name to Senior Independence Hospice 6715 Tippecanoe Rd.
