Warren - Elodia "Dee" Scala, 88, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Community Skilled Health Care Center. Dee was born September 4, 1925 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of Anthony G. "Tony" and Giancinta Butch. She was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. Dee retired from K-Mart as a service desk clerk after 27 years. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (St. James Church), Altar and Rosary Society, the Emblem Club and the Sons of Italy Roma Intangible Lodge #806 where in September of 1994 she and her late husband Tony received the Ernest Theadosio Award for their tireless dedication and hours they had contributed to the Order. She had also been the secretary for the last 43 years. She enjoyed ceramics, cross stitching, and cooking large family dinners. She is survived by her two children, Bella Marie Goehring of Warren and Atty. Michael A. (Michele) Scala of Warren, three grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Kinnan of Brunswick, OH, Michelle Goehring of Warren and Natalie Scala of Washington, DC., four great grandchildren, Justin and Hope Faller and Callista and Allison Kinnan, and a sister Anne Della Sala of Verona, PA. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Anthony N. "Tony" Scala whom she married September 21, 1946 and passed away December 10, 1998, Son-in-law Henry Goehring, three brothers, Albert, Vincent "Jimmy" and Anthony "Tony" Butch, and two sisters, Sabbia Falorio and Mary Krempasky. Family and friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (St. James Church) with Rev. John R. Lody officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Warren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 185 Laird Ave. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
