Obituary

Warren - A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Parish (Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church) with Rev. Jeff Stealy officiating for Ernest Ralph DiGiacobbe, 88, who passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Shepherd of the Valley in Niles at 12:15 a.m.. Ernest was born December 20, 1924 in Crabtree, PA. the son of Vincenzo "Jimmy" and Josephine DiGiacobbe. His parents immigrated from Italy to Pennsylvania in 1913 and moved to Warren, Ohio in 1927 where the family stayed thereafter. He was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. Ernest retired from GE Trumbull Lamp Plant in Warren after 45 years. He was a long time member of Christ our King Catholic Church in Warren and a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 4484. Ernest was an avid dancer and enjoyed Italian food and music, loved to help people and animals but his biggest love was spending time with family. He served in the US Army and received an honorable discharge in 1943. He is survived by his daughter Deborah (George) Welch, grandson Michael (Regan) Welch, brother Emidio "Mi Mi" DiGiacobbe, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friend and family canines Tango and Roxie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wife Margaret DiGiacobbe whom he married August 28, 1948 and passed away December 31, 1977, and a brother Chester "Chilly" DiGiacobbe. Family and friends may call Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Warren, Ohio.
