Obituary

Howland - Ethel DeOreo, 93, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Hospice House in Poland. She was born July 19, 1922, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Andrew and Sadie Morrison. She was a graduate of Youngstown South High School. She retired from the Howland School System as an aid at HC Mines Elementary School after 20 years. She had previously worked for JC Penney's at Boardman Plaza. Ethel was a member of the Queen of Holy Rosary in Vienna, Howland Scope and belonged to Scope Entertainment Group. She was an avid semesters and enjoyed traveling. She is survived by her children Stephen L. (Cheryl) DeOreo of North Canton, and Carolyn (Edwin) Kirkland of Cortland, four grandchildren William (Lori), Chris (Stacey), Shawn (Michele) Fagan and Steve J. (Heather) DeOreo, five great grandchildren Andrian, Conner, and Hannah Fagan, and Brandon and Harmony Sampson, one great great grandson Nolan J. DeOreo, a sister Darlien Selvert of Canfield,a niece Gwen Hilston of Niles and nephew Donald (Pam) Morrison of Austintown. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Stephen F. DeOreo whom she married May 3, 1941 and passed away February 7, 2013, and three brothers Robert, Edward and Lee Morrison. Family and friends may call Monday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio. A Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Queen of the Holy Rosary in Vienna with Fr. Denis Bouchard officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ethel's name to the Queen of the Holy Rosary 291 Scoville Dr. Vienna, Ohio 44473.
