Obituary

Warren – Floyd E. Sankey, 85, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Hospice House in Poland.

He was born November 11, 1931, in Niles, Ohio the son of the late Floyd L. and Blanche Sankey.

He was a 1950 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and moved to Warren in 1935. He retired in 1990 from the U.S. Post Office as a letter carrier and also worked for Heritage Florist a delivery driver and the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel. Floyd was a member of the first Baptist Church in Warren, Warren Gun Club and the NRA. He enjoyed woodworking and hunting.

Floyd served in U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his two sons Martin E. Sankey of Warren, and Rodney E. (Jennifer) Sankey of Champion, ten grandchildren, one great granddaughter, a sister Virginia (Kenneth) Wiland of Warren, and a brother Raymond (Mary) Sankey of New Castle, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Hannah N. "Susie" Sankey whom he married September 9, 1955 and passed away March 17, 2016, two sons Timothy A. and Jeffery E. Sankey and a sister Jacqueline Polomsky.

Family and friends may call Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  and Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio.

A service will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home with Dennis Carpenter, Esquire officiating.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Vienna with a Military Service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Floyd's name to Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market St. Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
