Warren - Fortune "Freddie" Tomassi, 79, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016 at St. Joseph Health Center. He was born April 2, 1937, in Collelongo, Italy, the son of the late Angelo and Viola Tomassi. He came to Warren in 1952 and retired in 2015 from the CafAC. 422 formerly Abruzzi CafAC. 422 as Head Chef after 63 years. He enjoyed cooking, putting on a Christmas eve celebration and was an avid sports fan. Freddie was of the Catholic faith. He is survived by his wife Gilda Tomassi who he married June 19, 1975, a son Angelo Tomassi of Dublin, two daughters Rose Callow of Niles and Cathy (Jason) Dye of Niles, four grandchildren Mark Callow, M.D., Gianna, Jaren and Jaxon Dye, two brothers Benedict "Benny" (Veronica) Tomassi of Warren, and Emilio "Emil" Tomassi of Warren and a sister Irene Tomassi of Warren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his second mother Grazia Corradi Tomassi. Family and friends may call Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Friday from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483. A service will be Friday at 11;00 a.m. at the Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Murphy officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta. The family would like to thank Lake Vista Rehab and St. Joseph Health Center ICU unit nurses for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Fortune's name to the Hope Center 1745 Niles Cortland Rd. NE Warren, Ohio 44484.
