Frances Virginia
(Stephens) Marini
August 23, 1929 – August 26, 2024
Frances Marini August 23,1929 - August 26, 2024
Frances Virginia (Stephens) Marini may have left this earth on August 26, 2024, but the legacy she left through all those she touched will live forever. Her 95 years were filled with family, friends and love. That love was shared with, above all, her children, Patricia (Jan) Sulonen, Mark (Kathie) Marini, and Jill Marini. Her legacy continues through grandchildren, Dana Sulonen, Brett (Jenna) Sulonen, both of whom called her grandma, and Mario (Ashley) Marini who called her Ba'am. She was Grandma Fran to her step grandchildren Mallory (Diego) Milara and Michael (Heidi) Marando and even to yet another generation with their children Maddox, Emma, Myles, and Michael. She also was Aunt Fran to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Marini, and siblings Jane (Myrtle) Rader and John Stephens.
Much of her family time was spent at Sunday dinners eating pasta made with her homemade sauce and, of course, lasagna on the holidays. She attended as many of her kids' and grandkids' sporting events, band concerts and dance recitals as she could and was known for her chocolate chip cookies, pizzelles, and cheeseball. She particularly enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida with her daughter Jill, enjoying the sunshine and a good lobster tail for dinner.
One of the smartest and most courageous ladies you could ever know, she also attracted people with her kindness and friendly personality. When not with family, she could be found hanging out at her neighborhood pool, playing bingo and occasionally pulling the arm on a slot machine or two with her bucket of nickels in her lap. Earlier in her life she was a devotee of The Kenley Players at Packard Musical Hall, having attended the shows for many years with her close circle of friends. Later in life, she enjoyed a new circle of friends with whom she enjoyed bus trips and lunches out. Weekly trips to the salon made certain her hair was always done and her nails were always painted.
She will be greatly missed and will be remembered at a celebration of life which will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Fran's name to the charity of your choice.
